Tamed birds are sweet
In nature, birds live in couples as they are very socially minded animals. They need daily contact which can be accomodated both by you and a second bird. Besides being very socially minded, the bird also loves to play. Especially mirrors and bells are adored by the pet bird, and it should regularly be offered varied toys.
If you have the time and desire, you can tame your bird and thereby enjoy the bird in a completely different way. Some birds are easier to tame than others, of which the budgie is the easiest one to tame.
Regardless of the bird species, you should have both the time and the patience for the demanding process.

The first step is to make the bird comfortable with its cage. Talk to it quietly. Once the bird has become comfortable with the cage and your presence, you should carefully put your hand into the cage, holding a millet spray. The aim is to make the bird eat from the spray in your hand, but even if you do not succeed at your first attempt, you should just keep trying over and over again. Subsequently, you should pet the bird on its stomach with your index finger and without a millet spray and then move your finger towards the legs.
This procedure should be followed several times until the bird is used to it. now, you can move your finger all the way down to the legs, and the bird will automatically take seat on your finger. Later on, you can attempt to pet the bird on the stomach with the other hand. It will not take long before the bird will come and sit on your hand by itself, especially if you attract it with a treat in the beginning.
