Training is healthy and fun

Playing and training is good entertainment for all dogs, regardless of age and breed, and to their owners. It takes time, patience and perhaps a couple of dog snacks to make your dog respond to verbal commands, but the result is a happy and obedient dog.

It is a good idea to attend dog training classes with your dog. Start early in order for your dog to become familiar with the training. Besides skills of obedience, the dog training provides for a good relationship between owner and dog, and at the same time, the dog learns to socialise with both people and other dogs.

Reprimands

The most important thing as regards playing and training is a positive attitude. Your dog needs to associate training with playing and enthusiasm, and rewarding with behaving well. Reprimands are used if your dog ignores you, but they need to be short and precise, such as: no! Never hit your dog, this will only provoke mistrust and make training and control even more difficult. After a reprimand, subsequently show your affection in order to make the dog feel that he is still a part of the family.

Reprimands should be an exception and rewards should be the rule, using a treat, which is an important part of the training. At first, treats should be given at any correct behaviour along with verbal and physical praise.
